Beijing [China], Feb 23 (ANI): After carrying out CRISPR experiment on human embryos, China has achieved a new feat by introducing its first robotic neurosurgeon.
Called Remebot, the robot is being used by doctors to more accurately conduct surgeries for one of the most sensitive parts of the body- the brain.
Remebot has already proven helpful for surgeons operating a patient with celebral hematoma. As Cnet explains in its video, the robot helped in precisely targeting and draining a mass of blood. The procedure took less than 30 minutes.
's achievements do not end at just Remebot. Recently, the first remote robot-operated surgery was conducted over 5G network when the surgeon was 30 miles away from the location and robotic arms helped in the removal of liver from a lab animal.
Once commercially viable, this technique could help surgeons as well as patients who do not have ease of access and are located far away. (ANI)
