Cape Town - New Zealand have broken the local fans hearts as they defeated the Blitzboks in a tightly-contested final at the Cape Town Sevens on Sunday.
New Zealand won 7-5 after the scores were level at 0-0 at half-time.
After a close first half - which resulted in no points on the scoreboard - Blitzboks star Justin Geduld opened the scoring with a try in the 9th minute.
New Zealand then took the lead thanks to a 12th minute try by Ngarohi McGarvey-Black under the posts. Akuila Rokolisoa converted the try to secure a win.
New Zealand have claimed their second Cape Town Sevens title in the last three years.
Meanwhile, in the Women's Series New Zealand went back-to-back as they defeated Australia 17-7 in their final.
The third leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series will take place in Hamilton, New Zealand from January 25-26.
