China holds military parade to mark 80th anniversary of Japans defeat

Russian President Vladimir Putin attended a military parade in Beijing on Wednesday, commemorating the 80th anniversary of imperial Japan's defeat in World War II.

Following Tuesday's Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting, Putin held a series of bilateral talks with leaders from China, Mongolia, Slovakia, Pakistan, Serbia, Uzbekistan, and Belarus. Discussions focused on energy, trade, regional issues, and bilateral ties with Russia.

Moscow and Beijing described each other as strategic partners and pledged to deepen cooperation "without limits" across multiple sectors, including security, technology, finance, and research. China remains Russia's largest trading partner.
